Got Creative

Luz is always yelling at Kim and I for not blogging more and for not including all of our scrappy stuff when we do blog. I was lucky enough to have some time today before going to work- D was at a 1st birthday party so I had the place to myself. Even though I have not finished my "Journal your Christmas" project yet- I did get some other stuff done.

I rarely do 2 page layouts and when I do I never split my title or picture across the 2 pages, I did that today and am rather proud of how it turned out. Nothing major but an accomplishment for me none the less.



I also realized I blogged about our trip to Archivers but I never posted anything that I worked on while I was there. At the time my goal was to finish my Journal Your Christmas project so that is how I spent most of my time. I didn't finish the journal but I did take it from less than 25% done to more than 75% so I feel like I accomplished something. Here are some of my favorites:




Going from KK to KKC pretty much sums up by 2007.

It is hard to tell from the scan but that is actually an envelope that opens, there is a "library card" inside that I journaled on- how nice it is to receive Christmas cards addressed to Mr and Mrs. for the first time!

And last but not least, you didn't think I could do a Christmas Journal without at least 1 layout with my favorite BBoy as subject.......

Do you know what time it is?

1. Some relationships are meant to be forever.
2. Bon Jovi is the last concert I saw; it was great because I was with the girls, but the shower itself wasn't that good.
3. Spring should be 9 months long, the other 3 could be 1 summer, 1 winter and 1 fall.
4. Oh no! I forgot to remember what it was I forgot-I hate when that happens!
5. I've recently started scrapping pictures just because I like them- used to be more of an event scrapper, never got anything done that way.
6. Hearing BBoy say my name never fails to make me smile.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hanging out with D, tomorrow my plans include working and Sunday, I want to get some scrapping done before going into work for a floorset!

Luz made me do it

I feel the need to apologize in advance of this post, be prepared the pictures you are about to see may cause eye damage and a weak stomach..... that being said, Luz posted a challenge yesterday and I knew if I didn't do it she would force me to- you know she used to be a Marine! Anyway the challenge was to draw (yes she said draw) a picture of yourself. For a hot second I thought about ignoring it but like I said she used to be a Marine and has a way of getting people to do what she wants. Then I thought about cheating, I figured I could take a picture of myself and use some photo editing software to end up with a picture that looked like it was drawn by a person (more importantly, me) I did that and this is what happened


















I knew there was no way I could pass that off as mine, I got the math gene not the art gene. So then I thought it wouldn't be cheating if I traced the picture that the computer generated for me, that way I could say I actually drew the picture so this is what I came up with..... warning this is where it gets scary




















In the event anyone is still reading this, I feel the need to justify the picture. No my eyebrows are not two different shapes, I don't think I have a double chin and to the best of my knowledge, my eyes are the same shape or as close to it as humanly possible.

Lucky for Luz I have a decent sense of self worth or seeing my version of myself would have pushed me right off the cliff.

Good Friday.....

It wouldn't feel like a Friday if I didn't post my Friday Fillins

1. Opening the mailbox and finding something other than bills and junk mail is so exciting!
2. Strawberry fields forever.(not sure what that means, but I didn't know what else to say)
3. Chocolate covered Doritos sounds like it would taste delicious! (I dip my doritos in hot chocolate and they are amazing!!)
4. Why does spending money I don't have make me feel so good?!
5. Ireland is something I've always wanted to see.
6. It's sad when I have scrap supplies I am just dying to use and I can't get my mojo.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to seeing D- he has been out of town since Sunday, tomorrow my plans include working and Sunday, I want to go to church in the morning and celebrate Easter with D!

A day late and a dollar short....

Okay it is Sunday and I am just now posting my Friday Fillins....

1. Ahhhh, it's so nice to hear my nephew laugh.
2. One of my favorite things on my desk or bureau is my watch (that is where I put it when I take it off to go to bed ).
3. Japanese Cherry Blossom is one of the best selling BBW fragrances.
4. My Bed is my favorite place to sit and read.
5. Doritos and chocolate is delicious!
6. I love to watch Jack Nicholson (you can't handle the truth) in movies.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Scrapping, tomorrow my plans include scrapping and helping D pack for his ski trip and Sunday, I want to enjoy my day off!

I did it!!

This morning before leaving the house I had D take these pictures so I would be able to post a before and after. I was so excited when I left the salon and realized I had time to go home and take some after shots to post before going to work. Granted, I had to take the after shots myself so it took me a little longer- needed to edit out the double chin and what not but I took them none the less. So without further ado.........................

Not only do I have a new short do that I am in love with, but I have 2 6 inch pony tails I am going to try to donate. My hair dresser said the place they usually use takes 10 inches but she is sure with a little bith of research I could find some place to take 6 inches. Of course me being me, I had to laugh- Don't we all WANT 10 inches but TAKE 6?!?!

It was a year ago today that I married my best friend (I know very cliche but oh so true) D and I were together for 7 years before we got married, I really didn't think being married would change anything, little did I know I would get that stupid smile on my face when I talked about "my husband" I still get goose bumps when he introduces me as "his wife." I never really understood it when people said there love for someone grow deeper and deeper with each day, I always just thought love was love. This past year has taught me differently, there are things D does every day that make me love him a little more. This has been a great year, full of firsts for each of us as individuals and as a couple. I thank God everyday for bringing him into my life and allowing us to spend our lives together.
