Luz should be proud of me

I didn't create on Tuesday but I did create yesterday and today- go Me!! I am having so much fun coming up with layouts for the sketches they are posting before the class even starts. I can only imagine what it will be like once class starts.

Shutterfly delivered almost 300 pictures to my doorstep the other day so of course I had to use those on my layouts.

One of my scrappy friends, Dawn, always has things printed things directly onto her patterned paper or card stock, I never tried that before, and now it is my newest obsession. if I am not printing it directly on the layout, I am printing it on card stock or regular paper and cutting it out. Super cool, great way to work around the whole I hate my hand writing thing.

I have really enjoyed my 2 days off, not only have I gotten some scrappy stuff done, I met up with a bunch of people I work with last night to celebrate some one's birthday. It was really nice, first time I had hung out with the socially and I am really glad I did. Even though they told the cab driver to make sure I got where I was going especially since I just got out of jail!! Good thing the driver didn't speak a lot of English, I would have had some explaining to do if he did.

One of the many reasons I took 2 days off back to back was to prepare for the insanity that next week will bring- Semi Annual Sale starts on Monday!!! (please pray I keep what little sanity I have left)

Are you in the house?

I got an email the other day promoting a class taught by Janna Wilson and Valerie Salmon, it is a ssketch based class and I have never been a sketch scrapper. I decided what the heck it is only $21 and I might learn a thing or two not to mention actually get some layouts created. Class doesn't start until June 9th but Janna and Valerie are doing a great job keeping up pumped about the class, they even posted an extra pre-class challenge for us should we be itching to get started. Of course I couldn't wait to get going so I jumped at the opportunity to get some scrapping done.

It isn't the best layout I ever came up with; however I am celebrating the fact that the challenge has been up for less than 24 hours and I already have a competed layout to go with it!! It is the first time I ever ran my paper through the printer and had something printed right on it. It is always the first 100% Stampin Up layout I have made. I am hoping to get even more done this weekend and will post those too.

I had hoped to get some of my London pictures scrapped but I don't have the prints yet, did get some scrapping done with my sister though. No layouts to show they are all at her house- her brother in law is retiring from the air force after 22 years of service so she is making a book of his career for him- she has never scrapped before but is doing a great job.

I did manage to create a card for our Yoga instructor, her 40th birthday party is tomorrow night, now if we could just figure out what we are giving her as a gift!!

Took tons of pictures

We had such a great time in London, took tons of pictures now I just need to order prints and to scrapping!

To quote one of my favorite movie lines- "Look kids, Big Ben"

One of the things that stinks about going on vacation with only 1 person is you have a hard time getting pictures with the two of you in them. You have to resort to things like snapping your reflection in subway windows.

This picture is one D didn't want me to take, but I had to do it for Anna

We had a great time, but as always it is nice to be back and sleeping in your own bed. Too bad coming back from vacation means returning to work!

I give them 2 thumbs up!!

7 REASONS WHY EVERYBODY IS WEARING FITFLOPS:

1.FitFlop midsoles incorporate patent-pending micro-wobbleboardTM technology, to give you a workout while you walk. Developed by Darren James and Dr David Cook at LSBU, the FitFlop's unique safely -tapered midsole places varying densities of EVA under your feet each time you step, to challenge the support and balance muscles of the foot and leg.

2.They challenge hard to reach muscles more. FitFlops are engineered with a multi-density midsole that stimulates your muscles more while you're wearing them. In independent University testing, FitFlops have been shown to trigger increase gluteal muscle response, increased hamstring response, increase rectus femoris (thigh) response and increased calf muscle response .

3.Every step you take in your FitFlops helps tone and trim your legs: Studies at Salford University by Dr. Philip Graham-Smith and Richard Jones have shown that the FitFlop midsole extends the amount of time that the slow twitch* muscles are engaged during each step (by approximately 10-12%). So just by wearing a pair of FitFlops you'll get more exercise while doing just exactly what you're normally doing. (*slow twitch muscles produce energy by converting fats into energy aerobically)

4.FitFlops work your bum muscles more. FitFlops have been clinically proven to increase the amount of time that the gluteus maximus muscle is 'activated' during every single step.

5.FitFlops have been shown to have a significant effect on the toning muscles of your thighs: The rectus femoris muscle (one of the large muscles in the group of muscles in your thigh) is activated for a longer period of time while walking in FitFlops than while normally shod or barefoot .

6.Walking in FitFlops is like walking barefoot, but a little bit better. According to a study done at the University of Salford in Manchester, UK, the FitFlop wearer's gait is very similar to that of a barefoot walker, but the added cushion provided by the EVA midsole helps reduce joint strain and absorb shock. In fact, several FitFlop wearers have already reported relief from back pain after a few days of wearing them.

7.FitFlops make it easier to stay in shape. Just throw them on while you're running errands, walking to work, or working around your house. Most first-time FitFlop wearers report feeling their muscles working more, while 'fitter' wearers feedback has been more toward great comfort and cushion. One woman reported feeling like she'd had a 'bum-blasting' workout after a half an hour of FitFlop-shod walking.

Reason number 8 should be because I am wearing them and I know the majority of the free world wants to be just like me! But seriously, they are amazing, everything you have read about them is true. If you haven't read about the yet check them out right away!!

Liked Mad Libs only better!!

Not sure what is going on in Janet's world this weekend but the Friday Fill-ins this week have several references to drinking and 1 reference to being naked, sounds like a great time to me!!

1. Two of my favorite ingredients in a drink are vodka and tequila (not together though, that would kill me)!
2. The human body-especially when it is a baby often amazes me.
3. You can keep doing that forever, the dog is barking (not sure about this one).
4. Add ice, mix it all together and voila! You have the perfect drink!
5. If I had a yard with a garden, I would love to grow rocks because I kill everything else.
6. Everything is best au naturel.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to enjoying my day off, tomorrow my plans include spending time with D (at least I think he is coming home Saturday) and Sunday, I want to do nothing but I have to work!
